Botanic Gardens - Denver, CO
Tasked with creating a transparent pyramid for the Denver Botanic Gardens' "Science Pyramid" project, the design team at Burkett Design drew inspiration from geological formations, ultimately integrating 500 dark gray, hexagonal Swisspearl panels in a honeycomb pattern as part of the structure's envelope.
Commissioned in July 2013, the project aimed to showcase the institution's conservation and research efforts, aligning with its broader mission as a scientific research body. Additionally, the pyramid features thirty photovoltaic collectors, windows, and skylights, underscoring the project's commitment to sustainability and innovation. Truly an incredible Swisspearl legacy reference along Colorado's Front Range.
