Davenport Central Fire Station - Davenport, IA
When the fire bell rings, the Galante Architecture Studio in Cambridge, MA is usually the first on the scene. Davenport Central Fire Station wanted to restore the historic masonry building to its former grandeur and to significantly expand it so that it supports the firefighters’ efforts to protect the City for the next century. The station is the oldest operating fire station west of the Mississippi. Terra5 terracotta rainscreen cladding was a perfect choice to add a modern appeal with the timeless aesthetic of fired-clay terracotta.
