Cascade Meadows Opens with Cem5 Skin
The Cascade Meadow Wetlands and Environmental Science Center, which just opened on June 4th officially, was born from a shared vision to restore and conserve native wetlands on a 100-acre site in northwest Rochester. Currently in the process of LEED Certification, Cascade Meadow utilized large format fibercement panels in a red orange color supplied by Cladding Corp for an energy-efficient rainscreen wall design.
Designed by LHB Engineers & Architects out of Minneapolis, the grounds surrounding the center were as carefully planned as the rainscreen facade, using native plantings, grading, pervious pavement and a green roof. Installed using a face-fastened visible rivet system with color matched rivets, the fibercement panels were installed in landscape orientation as the feature cladding on the building’s facade.
