Grow by Design: Build Pittsburgh 2015

On Thursday, April 23rd, Cladding Corp had the pleasure of participating as a sponsoring exhibitor at AIA Pittsburgh’s 14th annual continuing education conference and exhibitor show.  With great content and discussions, we are excited to see how rainscreen wall design continues to grow throughout the region.

The conference theme “Grow by Design” offered nearly 400 design/build professionals the opportunity to engage with the question of how to optimize opportunities for growth with a discerning use of our limited resources.

As the largest and most widely attended event in the greater Pittsburgh region for architects and design/build professionals, Build Pittsburgh 2015 was a great opportunity to connect with some of the designers who are leading in the use of drained and back-ventilated (DBV) wall cladding design.  Our presence at the exhibit hall focused on our Terra5, Cem5 and Ceramic5 product lines and we were grateful to have many a conversation with regards to how to design an effective “System5” rainscreen wall using these natural and timeless cladding panel systems.

As a city, the recently revitalized “East Side” of Pittsburgh is no stranger to leading-edge rainscreen cladding design.  For some visuals on a few projects that have turned heads in the area, check out the Watson Institute Friendship Academy or the East Side Shopping Center – both of which utilized a Swisspearl® fiber cement rainscreen.
