Going for the Gold at UC Davis with Terra5

Going for the Gold!  BAR Architects of San Francisco designed the new UC Davis Student Center featuring Terra5 Rainscreen. The project, which sits in the heart of the campus, is seeking LEED Gold certification.

In order to have a long lasting durable product, the CERAM series of Terra5 from Cladding Corp was selected.  The long red terracotta rainscreen wall is the featured entrance material that continues into the double-height lobby, study lounge and community “living room”.

BAR Architects worked with UC Davis architects, engineers, administration, tenant groups and campus environmental committees to determine the sustainability measures for the project.

CERAM combines the timeless beauty and warmth of extruded terracotta with the technical performance of a cutting-edge cladding material.

A double-skinned terracotta rainscreen tile designed as part of our System5 Terracotta rainscreen assembly.  The tile’s characteristic fluted inner cavity and lowest classification of water absorption allows it to be both impact and pollution resistant – the perfect facade for high traffic areas.

Not just an exterior product, CERAM and terracotta rainscreen products are a perfect material to also use on the interior of buildings.

As one of North America’s most referenced terracotta rainscreen providers, Cladding Corp provides a rainscreen solution that incorporates The 5 Principles of Rainscreen Cladding Design and offers terracotta in a diverse range of colors and format sizes, engineered for project-specific criteria.
